Waltham Watches
There were three partners Edward Howard, Aaron Lufkin Dennison and David Davis, who formed the American Waltham Watch Company, in 1850, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, USA. Their mission was to manufacture the watches precise in their movement. The company name was changed to American Horologe Company in 1851. In 1852, the company manufactured their first watches. They produced about 1000 watches.
In September 1853, the company was renamed to Boston Watch Company and the new factory was constructed in Waltham, Massachusetts. In 1854, the company changed its factory to a new place. There they manufactured 4000 more watches. In May 1857, the company was sold to Royal E. Robbins who named it Appleton Tracy & Co. In January 1859, Appleton Tracy & Co. was renamed to Waltham Improvement Co.
In 1876, the company manufactured their first automatic movement which was awarded gold medal on the behalf of precision. In 1957, the company transferred to Switzerland and was renamed Waltham International SA. Now they produce Waltham Swiss Watches. They also produce Luxury Watches, as a member of Federation of Swiss Watch Industry FH. The company also produces pocket watches and jewelry, which are also very popular in almost all over the world.
